To cover for the temporary loss of class 158 units while they
were fitted with ERTMS equipment for the Cambrian Line, Network Rail
agreed to fund driver training for Arriva Trains Wales staff. The class
67 hauled service was intended to run twice daily between Holyhead and
Manchester. 67 014 is seen
reversing out of the back platform at Bangor on 4th October 2007, for
some unexplained reason it hadn't run through to Holyhead.

It is held for the Holyhead to Manchester, a service it was intended to temporarily supplant.

Four days later, the same locomotive runs light to Holyhead, seen here on Anglesey after passing Llanfair PG.

On 12th November 67 021 rushes through Bangor.
All this proved to be in vain, as a couple of refurbished class 150 units were scraped from the bottom of a barrel.
