GMs on the Northern Belle at Bangor

13th February 2004

The Northern Belle lunch excursion from Chester should have gone down the Conwy Valley line to Blaenau Ffestiniog but the line had recently been flooded out, so the special was diverted to Holyhead. This isn't it, but a much earthier ensemble - rail grinding devices preparing for weekend work on Anglesey.

It was a miserable day and it started to rain as 66 124 entered Bangor station.

67 012 brought up the rear

Passengers waiting for the 13:16 Crewe departure wonder what's going on

Here's their train - inferior coaches but a nicer locomotive, 47 790
