Arriva Trains Wales Class 47 haulage 2004

Here are three views of 47 732 Restormel on 23rd March

On 29th March we took out Rover tickets to sample the last few days of loco-hauled Arriva services. We caught the Virgin service at Bangor and I alighted at Prestatyn while Rowan continued to Crewe. I photographed the HST leaving and settled down to wait for the 47 to take me back west to the end of the line.

I was delighted to find 47 792 in charge as it has thus far eluded me after its repainting in EWS livery and renaming as Robin Hood

Robin Hood was doing fine until Colwyn Bay, then sat there. The driver stuck to his task and coaxed 792 back into life and we left for Holyhead after a thirty minute sojourn.
