Rail Head Treatment Train 2006

Last year the RHTT ran during the night, so when this year's timetable was published we were delighted to find that it was timed to pass Bangor at 13:18 every weekday, perfect for my lunch break. The leaf-buster was scheduled to run between Mon October 2nd and Sat December 9th, daily apart from Sundays. The Saturday train was timed earlier, passing Bangor at 10:10 and 12:42.

In 2004, when EWS were contracted, the train often only went as far as Gaerwen, then returned to Bangor to await its return path. As far as I know, this never happened in 2006.

After an uncertain first week or so, the coast RHTT settled down to run very close to its booked time most days. The data below was collated from my own observations and those posted on North Wales Trains News Yahoo Group, Charlie Hulme's North Wales Coast site and The Class 37 Locomotive Group. Please email Alan Crawshaw if you can fill in the gaps.

The dates in bold type signify when I was out with a camera.
