Charter Double

4th June 2005

North Wales was treated to two charters today, providing relief from the monotony of units such as the class 158 standing ignored in the bay platform at Llandudno Junction while preserved 40 145 receives all the attention. Coincidentally, both charters originated in Bristol.

The Whistling Slater headboard is removed from the front of the Pathfinder charter before the loco runs round to head off down the Blaenau branch.

The second charter featured 6233 Duchess of Sutherland, no stranger to the coast this year.

After a half hour water stop the Duchess continued to Holyhead. We photographed its progress through Conwy
