Even maintenance kit gets named these days - here's Jupiter


My first sighting of a Pendolino, which will soon start to displace traditional stock from the West Coast main line. Freightliner 47 289 pauses before running round and heading off towards Manchester's Longsight depot and a much needed clean from the carriage washer. Someone had inscribed BIG SPRINTER in the dust on the side of one of the vehicles!

It's a shame that the loco-hauled cross country sets are not afforded a similar level of care.


Here's a close-up of the nose and the name of one of these bland looking sets. I find this "Red Revolution" about as appealing as Watney's keg beer Red Revolution of the sixties.
