A palindrome in Bangor

With 47 474 safely tucked out of the way, 37 415 can finally run into platform 2 and take Virgin's passengers on to Holyhead in time to catch the ferry.

The stopper to Llandudno, comprising 153 367, runs into platform 1

The Llandudno to Holyhead stopper is normally a 101 or a 153 but today we get a 142.

While the stopper is still stopped, the 12:44 Holyhead to Crewe rolls in. We normally see something longer than a 153 on this.

Once the line is clear of the 142, 47 474 can reverse out past the foliage ready to occupy platform 1.

Rowan prepares to capture Sir Rowland Hill on film

The 47 waits in the tunnel while the Holyhead to Stockport, composed of a 150 leading a 156, makes an extra stop at Bangor. This was announced as an extra service to passengers already on platform 1 though the reason was to set down passengers intending to catch the Virgin service. The 37-hauled 12:20 Crewe to Holyhead should have arrived a couple of minutes before this, but it was reported as running 50 minutes late.

As soon as it's left, 47 474 can pull in to resume normal service. A few minutes later Christine arrived, wondering why I hadn't turned up at the gym.
