The twenties finally catch up with us. It's stopped raining by now but it's
very grey.
The freight stops just beyond the crossover and waits a few minutes for the 09:19 Holyhead to Euston. I'll have to disappoint Brush fans here as 47 851 was travelling too fast for a decent photo in the gloom.

The English Electric duo trundle back to deposit their cargo in the triangle.
It'll be another five and a half hours before they're ready to return. Does
anyone know what goes on in the meantime?

We cycle up the road to see our train return in the guise of the 09:45 Holyhead
- Crewe. To the left of the Cob, the Department of Roads is wreaking destruction
on the Anglesey countryside as it gouges out a motorway class road to Holyhead.

There's nothing of interest now until lunchtime so we pedal back and take
up position by the viaduct over the Malltraeth Marsh. I wouldn't call this
175 especially interesting but we were killing time until the next loco-hauled
service. We watched the westbound HST then walked back.

Surely not a second unrefurbished loco? Yes, 37 057 Viking
turns up on the 10:07 Birmingham - Holyhead
