We were almost stranded away from the line for 057's return but reached this
overbridge and waited. The only sounds were from the bees harvesting the honeysuckle
pollen and from the birds singing. In the distance we heard the sound of English
Electric diesel engines, faint at first, increasing in intensity, then the
Viking roared over us and was gone. I hope that's not the last we see of this
machine.
On we go, and watch the return of the HST from an overbridge south of Gaerwen
before 37 426 makes its second visit to Anglesey with the 12:19 Crewe
- Holyhead

There's nothing to stir the heart now until 37 426 comes back so we
carry on to Llanfair PG. The car park is full and Pringles is choc a bloc
with coach parties and motorists, some of whom wander over to the station
to photograph each other by the famous signs. This is a request stop, but
faced with a busy platform the driver has no option but to stop, even though
he knows the chance of anyone boarding is remote. 426 is seen here pulling
away.

The last photo of a sun-free but enjoyable day features the return of the
flasks, with a longer train than the morning.
