First Voyager in Wales

Virgin were running a special for invited guests from Holyhead to Llandudno,
followed by a public run to Chester. This was to be the first appearance of
a Voyager in the principality so we headed off to Llandudno Junction to watch
it arrive, entering the station at the same time as 20 901/4 on the
flasks. The twenties followed behind 158 757. and after watching them
depart we settled down to await the Voyager.
220 008 arrived bang on time at 09:10
The invited guests included a troupe of schoolgirls in traditional Welsh costume.
Voyagers sport TGV/Eurostar style information displays on the side of each
coach. This will be very useful to passengers if they can be relied on to
be accurate.
Trains are not normally despatched in this manner from Llandudno Junction.
