Rowan and I drove to Porthmadog to see the Pathfinder charter to Pwllheli,
the first loco-hauled train to this destination since Barmouth Bridge was
repaired. The passengers had the option of taking a ride on the short stretch
of the Welsh Highland Railway from the town. It doesn't normally operate this
time of the year but this Ruston diesel was woken from its hibernation to
run a special.

The charter had to wait for a service train to pass before it could access
the single track section to Pwllheli, which gave us plenty of time to move
on to Criccieth
