One day left on our Rover, which would get us to Crewe and back, so we combined
it with Virgin Value 14 tickets for a very cheap excursion to the Settle and
Carlisle line, all Virgin services to Scotland being so diverted.
We took the 08:26 departure from Bangor, which disappointingly was a class 158 unit. I find the engine noise of these things really irritating. On arrival at Crewe we found 47 757 Restitution waiting to take over the morning Euston to Holyhead service.
