Christine was participating in some serious swimming training in Manchester,
so Rowan and I went along too, but took the tram up to Bury. This is the booking
hall, with two prospective passengers checking the timetable.
Off to the trains
From the platform, the view from the tunnel showed 47 402
trying to get in on the party, flanked by two locos that would be involved.
Brush type 2 D5600 would be providing some train heat, and
the unidentified class 20 is a genuine EE product.
Christine's grandparents used to live in Uckfield, so it was good to see a
"thumper" again.
