The Docklands Pioneer
31st March 2007

Rowan and I drove to Holyhead for the night ferry, being the start of
the school Easter holidays the boat was very busy so we were unable to
stretch out for a doze. The Irish Traction Group's hired double decker
from Dublin Bus whisked us off to Connolly, and after a welcome coffee
on the concourse we boarded the Mk 3 push-pull set for the first ever
loco-hauled passenger train into the new Docklands terminus.

We changed direction at Clonsilla

233 at Docklands station

Back at Connolly we transferred onto a Mk 2 set and 079 ran onto the front. Expecting a pair of baby GMs, some of the passengers were vociferous in their disapproval.
We head south
