Rowan and I drove to Holyhead for the night ferry, being the start of the school Easter holidays the boat was very busy so we were unable to stretch out for a doze. The Irish Traction Group's hired double decker from Dublin Bus whisked us off to Connolly, and after a welcome coffee on the concourse we boarded the Mk 3 push-pull set for the first ever loco-hauled passenger train into the new Docklands terminus.

Back at Connolly we transferred onto a Mk 2 set and 079 ran onto the front. Expecting a pair of baby GMs, some of the passengers were vociferous in their disapproval.
