The half price Virgin Value ticket offer of summer 2001 was too good to miss
so Rowan and I rose early and rode 1A23, the 06:16 departure from Bangor.
Our HST journey was pleasant and uneventful, delivering us bang on time at
Euston. This gave us plenty of time to get to Paddington in time for First
Great Western's 10:44 arrival from Plymouth, seen here arriving punctually
with 47 815 Abertawe Landore in charge.
