We visited my parents for Easter, and Rowan and I took a day out to ride the
Arrive class 37 service while it lasted. The train starts from Healey Mills
depot, calls at York only to pick up the conductor, then continues empty to
Knaresborough. It then forms a commuter service to Leeds and waits in a bay
platform for an hour or so before becoming the Leeds to Carlisle. To have
caught it from Knaresborough would have involved getting out of bed stupidly
early and then killing time at Leeds so we settled for a unit to get us to
Leeds.

We settled into our comfortable Mark II seats in the front coach, with a scattering
of railfans to keep us company and off we went, gradually picking up passengers.
Having enjoyed the sound and the scenery, we alighted at Carlisle as DRS 66
406 retreated.
