The route of this railtour is complex with some reserving and some rare track for loco-hauled trains so top-n'-tail is needed. There is a restricted choice of 37's in 2005 following the massive withdrawals by EWS in last year so the locos are 37427 and 37669 and they were used on other railtours this year. Thanks for Pathfinder Tours for organising this interesting tour.
Route: Crewe, Chester, Frodsham, Runcorn via Halton Curve, Liverpool Lime Street, Earlestown, Manchester Victoria, Rose Hill, Hyde Central, Denton, Stockport, Whaley Bridge, Buxton, Peak Forest, Chinley, Altrincham, Middlewich and back to Crewe.

Crewe is very boring with lots of new trains now. The only locos movements are
57's dragging Pendolinos such 57306 Jeff Tracey drags 390031
City
of Liverpool to Preston where it will terminate.

I didn't see this tour arriving at Crewe as it arrived early. 37669

There was a photo stop at Liverpool Lime Street, but 87003 Patriot
on a Virgin is a welcome surprise

11:40 - 37427 Bont y Bermo

EWS does not have many 37s now and choice is limited on railtours like this one

37669 at Lime Street
