50s visit North Wales

50031 and 50049 had done a TPWS test run from Crewe to Llandudno Junction before collecting failed 47750 on 19 July. There were 50 of these locos built between 1967-68 at Newton-le-Willows and numbered from D400 to D449.

14:53 - 50049 Defiance had returned from Bangor. It is once renumbered to 50149 in the mid 80s for working china clay trains.
