Engineering work between Crewe and Chester meant that all Virgin trains to Holyhead are top-n'-tail 47s on Sundays. I visited Llandudno Junction station between 14:18 and 14:33 to see these 47s.

14:20 -
The 1D87 13:25 Chester - Holyhead calls with 47851
on the front ...

14:21 -
... and 47830 which is the dullest livery which have seen
departing from the rear

14:29 -
47750 is dumped in the yard waiting for sending
for scrapping following its fire in Colwyn Bay.

14:33 -
The 1A61 13:45 Holyhead - Chester arrives with 47828 Severn Valley
Railway at the front ...

14:35 - ... and 47787 Windsor Castle departs from the rear, which was
withdrawn just a day later!
