Bad day on the coast!!

Sunday 03 April 2005

It was a bad Sunday on the North Wales Coast because drivers were on strike meaning that some passengers had a travel on replacement buses, however 4 top-n-tail loco-hauled trains run in each direction and Virgin Voyagers ran as normal as they used their own drivers. I went to Bangor station to see the event.

I arrived just as 47847 and 37197 just drawing out from the sidings ready for the 10:43 to Crewe

47847 was a regular on this line but not on maroon stock and ...

... 37197 should have worked the first 37 in North Wales since 2001 but was cancelled and run empty due to central door looking

Both the 16:55 Holyhead to Crewe and 16:00 Crewe to Holyhead which should had arrived by 17:23 and 17:43 were delayed to 18:00 and many passengers were fed up.

47843 Vulcan on 16:55 Holyhead - Crewe ...

... and 47847 on the rear

47816 (now leased to Freightliner) on the rear of the delayed 16:00 Crewe - Holyhead with 47815 on the front, I missed a shot of it due to everything happening at once!!

Will the same happen next Sunday!?
