Brush at Chester

29th March 2004

14:11 - I photographed 47732 Restormel on the final 5D45 ECS to Manchester when I arrived at Chester

14:33 - 47792 Robin Hood (was Saint Cuthbert) calls with ATW's 1K67 12:45 Holyhead - Crewe. It is one of nine of these locos that were given unsuccessful "life extension overhauls". This train is now worked by a unit.

15:23 - The other HST used on the coast today was 43094 seen departing from the rear of the 1A77 13:41 Holyhead - London Euston, 43065 was at the front. All other diesel worked Virgin trains are very nasty Voyagers.

15:38 - I rode the 2N97 15:49 to Manchester with 31602 CHIMAERA at the front

15:41 - ... and 31459 CERBERUS on the rear

17:17 - I got off at Manchester Piccadilly in order to catch the 17:19 which is a 47 back home, 31602 seen departing from the front.

19:46 - 47732 Restormel is seen at Bangor on its final journey to Holyhead, before working the 07:45 to Crewe tomorrow then store!!
