We went vegetarian more than twenty-five years ago for health, environmental and animal welfare reasons. The children are very happy to have been vegetarian from birth. Graianfryn has been our home since moving up from Brecon, South Wales, in 1985. During this time we've extended and improved the house and we established it as a Guest House in 1989. The children attended the village primary school where they learnt to speak Welsh. Our favourite leisure activities are walking in the mountains of Snowdonia and cycling, so if you need help in choosing your walk or bike ride we should be able to provide it.
Our latest holiday, cycling in Scotland in June (opens in a new window)
Christine does most of the work here, including planning, organising and cooking. She's a keen swimmer, attending Arfon Masters sessions in Bangor and Caernarfon.
I'm the Graianfryn webmaster as well as Database Administrator at the
University of Wales in Bangor. As I'm not around as much as Christine,
I generally do the less interesting jobs, such as washing up.
I'm a fan of a useless football team, York City FC, the music of
Throwing Muses,
Yo La Tengo,
Neko Case
and others, Traditional Ale and Christine's cooking.
RowanOur railway-mad son enjoys photography and tinkering with his website.

SarahOur daughter teaches English in Spain, so she's not often to be seen at Graianfryn.
